ciekawi mnie vectra, miałem przez chwilę smarttv i dla mnie wyglądało ok ale oddałem bo nie mieli oferty z hbo. Teraz będę miał montaż netii ale już bez tv - z różnych powodów ale m.in. z powodu słabym opini. Chwilowo posiedzę może na wp pilot i pomyślę co dalej

Można uzyskać dobry obraz stosując odpowiednie i nowoczesne  kodeki przy niezbyt wysokim bitrate?

Jak jest dużo dynamiki, to musi być zmienny i tak właśnie jest w amerykańskich usługach jak Apple TV+, Netflix…itp. Z telewizją jest różnie, ale zmienny zawsze będzie lepszy. Nowsze kodeki to głównie oszczędności, bo i tak obniżą bitrate.

W Eurosport Extra też pokazuje różne wartości na transmisjach np. 6,5. albo jak teraz jest 6,8 a niekiedy 7,4Mb/s.

@mara68 jak parametry zmieniają się na żywo, czyli trochę spada, trochę wzrasta to jest to bitrate w czasie rzeczywistym. C+ Sport ma te 8 Mbps, ale w piku, natomiast średnia na żywo to około 6 Mbps, ale tylko na meczu, bo potem jest jeszcze mniej. Viaplay w piku ma 9 - 10 Mbps, a średnia na żywo to trochę ponad 5 Mbps. Najlepiej sprawdzać bezpośrednio na urządzeniu i wtedy są realne parametry. Masz Apple TV, więc możesz sobie wszystko monitorować.

W przypadku Canal+Online, przepływność w czasie rzeczywistym można łatwo sprawdzić w przeglądarce aktywując opcję RxPlayer, która pokazuje profil jakościowy i statystyki.

I przy bardzo wolnym necie.

 

Dla porównania Kodi, widać te same profile, tyle tylko, że można sobie na sztywno ustawić trzymanie się najwyższego jeśli jakość Internetu na to pozwala.

Oczywiście w przeglądarce nie sprawdzi się kanałów 4k z HEVC, ale dla przepływności HD można skorzystać z tej metody.

W streamingu nie da się udostępnić sygnału 1:1, jeśli mamy mieć ABR.

Nawet najwyższy profil musi być transkodowany, aby zachować synchronizację z resztą.

Inaczej mielibyśmy bardzo nieprzyjemne przeskoki w obrazie i dźwięku, gdy klient przełącza się z jednego profilu na drugi. 

 

Do zbadania faktycznego bitrate'u wystarczy podsłuchanie ruchu sieciowego, wtedy od razu wiemy czy mamy do czynienia z CBR czy VBR i jakie są faktyczne parametry transmisji.

Uczulałbym jednak, aby zluzować zależność bitrate=jakość.

Nie mając wiedzy o parametrach enkodera czy samym enkoderze (SW/HW) - nie wspominając o tym z jakiego źródła pochodzi sygnał (SAT/FO) - nie ma sensu patrzeć na bitrate i na tej podstawie oceniać czy dany dostawca oferuje lepszą czy gorszą jakość strumieni.

 

Enkoder w ramach tego samego kodeka (np. H264) można tak skonfigurować, że strumień o nominalnym bitrate 6Mbps będzie wyglądał dużo gorzej niż taki o przepływności 4Mbps.

Wszystko kwestią kompetencji/dostępnych zasobów czy priorytetów przy budowaniu danej usługi.

Porównywanie bitrate'u między dostawcami może wydawać się produktywne, ale w oderwaniu od parametrów do których nie ma publicznego wglądu nieszczególnie takie jest

 

Najlepiej po prostu usiąść do telewizora i organoleptycznie ocenić jaka jest faktyczna jakość obrazu, bo z patrzenia na cyferki niewiele może wynikać.
