TBS5590 doczekała się wersji V2.

Główny problem jest taki, że nie do końca wiem na ten moment czym różni się od V1.

 

Strzelam patrząc na sterowniki, że to może być połączenie dotychczasowego klocka Si2183, ale część naziemno-kablowa przerzucona na Sony CXD6801, co dodało ATSC 1.0 (u nas w Europie nieprzydatny).

Jeśli Si2183 został, to jako posiadacz 5590 V1 stwierdzam, że jeśli kogoś nie interesuje ASI oraz delikatnie podbity limit bitrate, bliżej 120 Mbit/s (gdzie 5520SE poddawała się wcześniej) to nie ma tu nic, co by uzasadniało przebicie w cenie między 5520SE, a 5590, ale w sumie... My jesteśmy trochę jak np. audiofile, nie zawsze wszystko musi mieć uzasadnienie

 

Cena obecnie jak widzę nieco wyższa niż było V1 - $339.

Może warto było by się jej bliżej przyjrzeć liczę po cichu że pojawi się w sklepie w PL lub w DE.

Wpadł kod linuksowych sterowników dla TBS 5590V2 i są ciekawe przemyślenia - wygląda, że to jednak całkiem inny HW, oparty o:

Montage M88RS6060 (jak 5930/5530, na których nadal nie ma Blindscanu)

Sony, ale nie CXD6801 jak w 5530, tylko chyba CXD6822 (?)

 

Pachnie brakiem blindscanu o ile jakiś cud nie nastąpił, że zadziała jak 6902SE/6904SE.

 

To oznacza tylko jedno - czas kupić i się przekonać

Niezłe tempo - we wtorek przygotowana etykieta, nadany w środę z Chin, w czwartek u mnie (choć też fakt - szybko zapłaciłem cło).

Dla AltDVB koniecznie na 0 musi być ustawiony TbsFix22KHz, inaczej karta nie może przełączyć pasma i zacina się.

Na razie nie udało mi się wysterować DiSEqC w żaden sposób.

Proszę informuj o zmianach jak to wypada z Alt DVB (szczególnie ta współpraca z diseqC) jestem bliski kupna tego modelu.

Good news is that now 5590V2 is detected and CrazyScan shows something.

Bad news - everything else

 

With RFScan CrazyScan seems to show some random ups and downs, unrelated to real signal.

With FFTScan - results are the same as in 5530 and 5930 - nothing readable.

BlindScan (BLScan2) finds 0 frequencies (for Hot Bird - this took nearly 15 minutes).

Attempt to lock directly any frequency with a known SR/FEC - fails too (no lock).

I'm afraid that 5590V2 mostly clones known blindscan related issues of 5530/5930 (USB devices on Montage M88RS6060).

 

About DiSEqC - tested 5590V2 with AltDVB on other satellite setup - also unable to switch to the next port (tested Commited, Uncommited, RAW).

 

Quick low SR test - direct lock of SR 1000 ksps possible with AltDVB. Lower SR values to be tested.

 

@zuchnet - na ten moment pod DX nie bardzo  Póki co nawet podgląd widma nie gra, Blindscanu brak, DiSEqC nie zagrał...

Zaraz jeszcze cofnę się do starszych sterowników 2.0.0.1 i zobaczę, czy to coś zmieni.

EDIT: Wycofanie się do 2.0.0.1 nic nie zmieniło ani dla DiSEqC, ani dla CrazyScan-u.

P.S. Ter/cable also supported for 5530, 5230, 5590 (RFScan2, AirScan for Crazyscan2). IQScan, CIRScan not implemented yet

Oops, if FFTScan looks badly, then BLScan2 will end up more or less as a failure?

Bug in drivers?

 

Current situation for M88RS6060 based USB devices (on 1.2.5.176 StreamReader.dll):

5930 (drivers 1.0.0.6 from 2023-09-07)/5530 (drivers 1.0.0.1 from 2023-01-04)

• RFScan looks fine (it is taking nearly 2 minutes on 5930 to do a full RFScan in Ku-band with 3 MHz step, 5530 is a bit faster - 80s and 5520SE based on Si2183 is much faster with the same step - 23 seconds, but less precise - RFScan dB step is higher than 0,1 dB)
• FFTScan unreadable (it is taking around 4 minutes on 5930 and 2 minutes on 5530)
• BLScan2 - sometimes find few frequencies, but mostly fails (and attempts are taking very long, e.g. now on 5930 full Hot Bird BLScan2 took nearly 21 minutes, resulting in detection of 5 transponders only, on 5530 - 18 minutes with detection of 8 transponders; in comparison 5520SE based on Si2183 - 100 seconds, 83 transponders)
• IQScan not supported (no device based on M88RS6060 has got IQScan, maybe not supported in HW?)
• Manual lock through StreamReaderEx-BDA apps is possible and works fine, but SR needs to be known
• DiSEqC works fine
• DVB-T/T2 and DVB-C in 5530 are working fine, AirScan is able to get everyhting, in DVB-C I think that SR is reported in Msps instead of ksps (always 6 Ks on the chart). Full DVB-C scan (8 MHz BW, 4 MHz step - 82 seconds, 69 frequencies - OK)

5590V2 (drivers 2.0.0.2 from 2024-01-22)

• RFScan is showing some weird results (62s for full Ku-band scan with 3 MHz step)
• FFTScan unreadable (but much faster than 5930/5530 - 35s)
• BLScan2 - finds nothing
• IQScan not supported
• Manual lock through StreamReaderEx-BDA apps fails
• DiSEqC fails (expected to be fixed in 2.0.0.3 drivers)
• DVB-T/T2 and DVB-C in 5590V2 fails too with messages:
  • AV2018 read  error! Check your i2c implementation and/or i2c address for the AV2018!!
  • Terrestrial tuner HW init error!
  • Error: sony_integ_Initialize failed. (ERROR_NOSUPPORT)

For M88RS6060 based devices, but PCI-e ones, BLScan2 works fine, so this is a bit surprising that all USB devices are failing. I'm not sure if this is an undiagnosed drivers bug on TBS side or some HW limitation... Especially pity, because M88RS6060 with S2X support and at least partial ACM/VCM support outperforms SiLabs based devices and would fill a gap after 5927, which has got no S2X support.

I've never thought that I would praise Montage demods. I remember old devices based on DS3000/2, DS3103 and they were crappy

Both 5590 HW version have same USB ID, so first attempt detect Silabs-based box (first two messages) and next detect Montage/Sony-based box.

Look like 5590V2 with CXD6822 -  fixed in new test build + SR in AirScan result

DiSEqC już działa

Dodatkowo karta nie reaguje już blokadą jeśli w AltDVB w Dev_BdaDriver.cfg mamy TbsFix22KHz=1 - teraz zachowuje się poprawnie.

 

To nie koniec dobrych wiadomości - sterowniki naprawiły też satelitarny RFScan - wykres w CrazyScan jest już poprawny, czyli możliwości wyrównały się do 5530/5930.

Działa też bezpośrednie wstrojenie (satelita) przez CrazyScan (znając SR).

Niezmiennie nie działa BLScan2 (czyli w ogóle Blindscan na tej karcie, bo innego nie ma), ale tu też sytuacja wyrównała się do 5530/5930 - karta znajduje losowe transpondery, zwykle góra kilka z całego pasma.

FFTScan także nadal nieczytelny - tak samo jak w 5530/5930.

Sterowniki zasadniczo wyciągnęły 5590V2 do poziomu 5530/5930 na tych samych klockach, poza częścią naziemno-kablową, tu nadal wykres w CrazyScan2 bez związku ze stanem faktycznym i brak wstrojenia, być może z powodu nowego, niewspieranego tunera od Sony.

Nie sądzę, aby Blindscan dla satelity był kiedykolwiek dostępny na 5530/5930/5590V2, także decydując się na te urządzenia trzeba mieć to na uwadze. Ale poza tym wszystkie 3 modele to solidne i stabilne konstrukcje, np. 5930 używałem przez ponad miesiąc do całodobowego monitoringu jednego transpondera i karta sprawiła się wzorowo.

Additionally the card is no longer failing if in Dev_BdaDriver.cfg file for AltDVB an option TbsFix22KHz is set to 1 - now card is working fine.

 

New drivers also fixed RFScan for satellite part - the graph in CrazyScan now looks correct, the same as in 5530/5930.

Also direct tuning (by a known SR value) is now fixed for satellite too.

BLScan2 still does not work (so no Blindscan at all on this device, because there's no other option), but now it has been improved to match 5530/5930 - card is able to find some random frequencies, usually at most a few from the entire Ku-band.

FFTScan is also still unreadable - the same as in 5530/5930.

Drivers basically improved 5590V2 to match the current level of 5530/5930, except of terrestrial/cable part. Here graph from CrazyScan 2 is still without relation to a real signal and no manual lock, maybe because of a new and unsupported yet Sony tuner.

I don't think that Blindscan for satellite will be ever available for 5530/5930/5590V2, so this need to be taken into account when selecting these devices. Besides all 3 models are very good & stable, e.g. I as using 5930 24/7 for > 1 month for the purpose of monitoring a transponder and it worked flawlessly.

Confirmed - new build enabled full support for DVB-T/T2 and DVB-C on 5590V2

 

DVB-T/T2: RFScan - OK, direct tuning - OK, AirScan - OK (no IQScan)

Compared detected parameters with a SiLabs based device - OK (slight difference in reported bitrate, e.g. -0,003)

 

 

DVB-C: RFScan - OK, direct tuning - OK, AirScan - OK (no IQScan)

On RFScan with 2 MHz step every active frequency can be nicely distinguished between each other.

 

 

If we could only improve the satellite support, M88RS6060 USB devices could be a perfect replacement for 5520SE, which seems to be disappearing from the market

Thanks, I gave it a spin on 5930, no changes. I'm afraid that @crazycat did what he could and now if this is something that drivers cannot fix - all M88RS6060 based USB devices will be left without Blindscan.

 

I'm planning to take a look at neumodvb under Linux, which should have a M88RS6060 blindscan support (I'm expecting to get a failure like @crazycat said, because I think that it is something more HW related on USB devices), but starting with some device that is known to work, like TBS5927, because I've never tried this solution before and firstly I need to get a correct setup at any device. Not sure when - I'm quite busy, but it's something on my "to do" list
